RESPONSE TO SLAVERY AND ANTI-SOUTHERN NEVADA
REMARKS FROM ASSEMBLYMAN JIM WHEELER

In response to the regrettable remarks made by Assemblyman Wheeler I am extremely shocked and disappointed.  To use slavery as a cavalier reference to make a point is insensitive and below the standard we expect of our elected leaders.

Also, having a state legislator that has so much disdain for the largest populace of the Nevada gives me pause when considering whether or not he can properly represent good state policy.  Las Vegas has been a town that I, and millions of others, have been blessed to work, play, and raise our families.

Our duty as legislators is to lead out and be representatives for good policy for the state as a whole and not pit the north and south against each other.  We need solutions that provide growth and opportunity to the entire State of Nevada.
